“The Heart of Frost” Just Might Melt Your Heart

“If light is in your heart, you will find you way home.” ― Rumi

There’s treachery afoot in North Pole City, and it spells, “don’t make Jack Frost angry. You won’t like him when he’s angry.”

The Mouse King appears to be up to some very naughty misdeeds, indeed, so close to Christmas, and it’s a fairly slick bit of trickery he’s pulled off too, considering he’s behind bars when he allegedly orchestrated this dark and dastardly crime that was very nearly spelled, “Rudy Rain Dear, you’ll go down in history,” and sends Jack off the deep end when he sets out to discover whodunit. Was it the Mouse King, or was he merely the victim of a sinister plot to frame him because he’d be the most likely suspect? It’s foul play and black magic that ignites an anger in Jack so all consuming that it sends him raging into a storm of vengeance which threatens to freeze his heart and destroy the love he’d once felt for his beloved Christmas elf.

Love is the light and Rudy is the flame who sets out to rescue Jack from himself. Rudy risks everything when it’s discovered who the true culprit is in the plot to separate him from Jack, and Charlie Cochet deftly leads us through all the twists and turns and danger, with a little tug to the heartstrings, too, just for good measure.

If you haven’t read Mending Noel, the first book in the North Pole City series, do that first because Noel and his sweet Tim join in to help Rudy help Jack, and theirs is such a sweet little story anyway, so it’s not as though it’s a hardship; not to mention you’ll see how the Prince of Frost and his humble flyboy began and why they face the problems they face in The Heart of Frost.

These characters charm and delight their way through this love-conquers-all Christmas story in which the author takes some of the most beloved holiday traditions and images and makes them her own. From the beginning, to the exciting climax, and on to the final bow, Charlie Cochet delivers a cozy and heartwarming romance.
