Title: Forgiving Thayne (A True Mates Novel)

Author: J.R. Loveless

Run Time: 11 Hours and 55 Minutes

At a Glance: I think that McClain has some room to grow in his performances, but overall, I liked the voices he chose for the main characters.

Blurb: Nicholas Cartwright has done everything in his power to forget that night six months ago in Senaka when his true mate rejected him, leaving him shattered and disillusioned. Burying himself in his work, he pushes himself to the point of exhaustion while finding the touch of another unbearable. Suddenly his mate needs his help, and he may be asking for more than Nicholas can find it in himself to give.

Thayne Whitedove has always been a wanderer, spending his days on the road and his nights wrapped in the arms of whatever random hookup he meets, until a fateful mistake sends him rushing for the comforts of home. To his utter dismay, the only way to correct his error in judgment is to accept the one thing he’s never wanted: his mate. Thayne must decide whether to keep running or to stay and fight for Nick’s forgiveness.

Dividers

Review: Chasing Seth and Touch Me Gently by J.R. Loveless are my go-to audiobooks. I have listened to both audios at least four times and consider them classics. I follow J.R. Loveless on social media and was so excited when she posted she was writing Thayne and Nick’s story. My only complaint is that she didn’t write it fast enough!

I was not disappointed when I read Forgiving Thayne. I found the book to be very well written. I especially liked how she developed the character of Thayne, and the secondary characters of Sara and Elijah. Sara and Elijah just calmed everyone down, so steadfast in their leadership. In a lot of stories I have read, the bad guy is just that—bad, not a lot of dimension. J.R. Loveless gives the “Created One,” aka Matt, hopes, dreams, and in the end, peace as he laid in the Thayne’s arms. The author could have stopped there, but thank goodness she didn’t. Thayne deserved a no-strings-attached happiness with his mate, Nick. I was so happy that she allowed us to share in Thayne’s happiness by putting to rest the pact that was made so many years ago between Dakota and Thayne. Happily ever after, such a nice sound to that!

This is the first audiobook I have listened to narrated by Derrick McClain. I especially like narrators who perform the stories with their voices. I think that McClain has some room to grow in his performances, but overall, I liked the voices he chose for the main characters, and the whiny sneers of the Created One were painful to listen to but so fit the character. Great Job. Is this audiobook worth buying if you have already read the book? Yes. The voices the narrator created are worth the cost, and the story keeps you engaged to the end.

One More Sleep ‘Til RainbowCon – J.R. Loveless Brings The Celebration To A Close With A Giveaway

It’s one day until Rainbow Con 2014, and I couldn’t be more excited! This is the first event I will be attending as an author since the release of my debut novel Touch Me Gently in 2010. Nervousness is mixed in with the excitement as I am not a huge fan of public speaking or appearances. But I soldier on as I am looking forward to meeting some of my readers and sharing in a few days of being around other authorly-types like me.

The road to this very moment has been a four year whirlwind. While I had a one year period of no new releases being made available due to personal reasons, I still like to hope my readers are anticipating my newest novel Forgiving Thayne. It is the follow up to Chasing Seth, but focuses around the brother of Kasey Whitedove, Thayne, and Nick, the brash, smart-mouthed best friend of Seth. As the fans of my novel Chasing Seth may remember Nick encountered his true mate Thayne one night and Thayne immediately rejected him. First, it was due to Thayne’s assumption Nick was a Created One, but even after it was revealed Nick was in fact a true wolf, Thayne still refused to accept the other as his mate.

A lot of my readers have been clamoring for this follow up, and I truly hope I do not disappoint. It is fraught with angst and tense with restrained lust. A mistake made in the heat of the moment leaves Thayne scrambling to find a solution to his problems only to be forced to enlist Nick’s help, a help he desperately doesn’t want to need. Since I only just received the acceptance from Dreamspinner Press a couple of weeks ago, I do not have a cover to share with you as of yet, but I did have a friend of mine do a little bit of a manipulation with Photoshop to create an image to share with you all. I think it came out very hot and sexy!

With that said, for those of you joining me at Rainbow Con I hope you have a chance to stop by my swag table and pick up some of the items I have on offer there! There are key chains, pens, and more! For those unable to attend, I am including a prize package for those who comment on this blog post and tell me their favorite quote from any of my books. Prize package will include some, if not all of the items I am giving away. There is no restriction on country as I am willing to ship to anywhere in the world. :) I know how disappointing that can be when an author restricts physical items to US only! So feel free to join in on the contest and tell me your favorite quote from either of my books. It can be something funny, heartbreaking, sweet, or just plain striking!

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED

Thank you to everyone who has been with me on my journey and I hope you will continue to take the ride with me because I plan to keep on gaining momentum!

Kisses,
J.R.

novel-approach-facebook-iconHi, everyone, I hope you all had a great week. Thanks for dropping by to see what we’ve got coming up. The most exciting thing going on this coming week for me is that Jackie and I will be heading to RainbowCon in Tampa to represent The Novel Approach, but mostly we’re going to have fun, meet with readers and authors, and get up to general shenanigans with friends.

We’ve also added two new authors to the Countdown to GayRomLit Celebration—Jacob Flores and Sherrie Henry. Jacob’s visit is coming up on April 21st, so be sure to stay tuned for that.

In the meantime, here’s what we have on tap this week:

Remember that little peek you got at Mary Calmes’s Ears, Eggs and Bunnies? Well, today’s the day you’ll get to see the story in its entirety. It’s only a little taste of Sam and Jory, but it’s nothing less than solid proof Sam Kage still has his hands full :)

Saturday – Woohoo! The Butt Ninjas From Hell are here today. Well, not all of them, but TC Blue is here with a guest post and a tour-wide giveaway

Annabelle Jacobs is also with us to talk about her newest book in the Torsere series, Union, and there’s a giveaway
