Safety in NumbersBlurb: “Bros stick together no matter what.”

When Chris and Liam made that promise, they had no idea how important it would become or how it would be tested in the most brutal way. Nine years later, their bond cemented in blood, that relationship is all they have to hold on to.

“No matter what happens, this friendship will be the one constant we can count on.”

When Billy and Owen made that promise, they knew exactly how dangerous the world could be. They survived prison by protecting each other and they survived freedom by holding that promise sacred. Now they want more than just to survive and they want it from the brothers whose bond is as strong as their own.

“We are stronger together than we’ll ever be apart.”

When Owen reaches his breaking point, Chris jumps at the chance to make things right for all of them. With the future in their grasp, will they realize their strength is in their numbers and finally become the family they crave?

Author’s Note: This is NOT a foursome, but the story of two couples that needed to be told together.

The Protector - Jessie G AuthorAbout the Author: Like many readers, the dream of being a writer has been with me a long time. After three decades of trying, I’d begun to doubt. Thanks to social media, I followed my favorite authors hoping to glean some words of wisdom as I pounded out half-formed ideas with alarming regularity. Two repetitive themes emerged: to be a great writer you must read a lot and your butt must be in the chair every day like it’s a job. The more you write, the easier it will be to write and the better you will be at writing. I took that advice to heart and write every day. With six published books to date, three series in the works and a full schedule of releases planned for the next two years, it’s been amazing to have made this dream my reality.

I am a firm believer in marriage equality, love at first sight, power dynamics and happily ever after. I’m a lover of strong secondary characters and series filled with families, biological or chosen. All are themes you’ll find throughout my books.

At a Glance: I truly enjoyed the way Jessie G developed Safety in Numbers, a well-rounded story of the four guys, as brothers and friends, and as couples.

Review: When I originally read the blurb for this book, I had some reservations about its focus being on two separate couples. Knowing what I did from reading the previous books in the series, I kind of got the reason for it, but I usually prefer the focus of my books to be on one relationship. I was afraid it would take something away from the storyline, or I’d feel as if I’d missed out on something, but that was really not the case with Safety in Numbers. It quickly becomes obvious that there was no way to tell these characters’ stories separately. Although not a foursome, as the blurb states, they really are a unit.

I truly enjoyed the way Jessie G developed this plot, a well-rounded story of Chris and Liam, and Billy and Owen, as both brothers and friends, as well as their relationships as couples. I honestly felt as though I got even more out of this story than I would have were the focus only on one pair. We also get little glimpses of characters we have already met and loved, as well as meeting a few new characters who all keep the story flowing.

This book ended with me being satisfied with where it took me, and looking forward to what is to come. Safety in Numbers is my absolute favorite in the series so far!

First I want to thank The Novel Approach for hosting this stop on the Tricking Chase book tour. I had a lot of fun writing this book and bringing my vision of both the BDSM and MC cultures to life. When I say my vision, I feel it necessary to point out that I write fiction.

Websters defines fiction as the class of literature comprising works of imaginative narration, especially in prose form. works of this class, as novels or short stories: detective fiction. something feigned, invented, or imagined; a made-up story

In trying to come up with a topic for this post, I found a site with possible interview questions and one was “How much of the book is realistic?” I could only scratch my head and wonder, what’s reality got to do with it?

While I did quite a bit of research on both topics in the book, I was not a stickler for any kind of rules. All that research was just a tool for creating a believable world and I took quite a bit of creative license to make the facts work for my fantasy. Considering those in the BDSM and MC culture live totally outside the rules of normal convention, I’m not sure they’d care if I altered and embellished to suit my purposes. Nor do I think they’re looking at this little MM author to accurately portray their life story.

It’s my sincerest hope that you enjoy the world I created for my guys, and it may very well look similar to the world around you, but the only reality is that it’s my fantasy.

Again I want to thank The Novel Approach for hosting this stop and to wish you all luck in the rafflecopter. Leave a comment below and I’ll be checking back throughout the day to answer any questions you might have about Tricking Chase or any of my books.

Tricking Chase Cover - 500HBlurb: As Sergeant At Arms for Devils Pride MC, Tyler “Trick” Malone’s take no prisoners reputation make him one of the most feared and respected members of the club. Unbeknownst to the MC, Trick indulges his most dangerous secret, traveling out of state twice a year to trade his cut for the whip he expertly wields at a gay dungeon.

Trick’s well organized life takes a turn when he saves bar back, and terrified submissive, Chase Ward in a Georgia dungeon. With his protector and dungeon owner dead, Chase is no longer safe in the place he once called home. With the new dungeon owners circling like sharks, he desperately begs for sanctuary in the arms of his savior.

A year later, the MC is still none the wiser that Trick’s houseboy is anything more than a grateful servant. Chase knows, if the club finds out their secret, they will kill Trick—the man he’s come to rely on for everything from the food he eats to the pleasure he feels to the security he craves. Even when gratitude turns to love, Chase never expects reciprocation from his ruthless Master. After all, the only way for them to survive is if Trick remains the heartless bastard the MC knows.

Trick is positive he has it under control and having Chase around has definitely made his life easier. There doesn’t seem to be any harm in letting Chase take a part-time job at Velvet Ropes, especially after meeting privately with the owners. That is until a bomb explodes at the club, leaving Chase fighting for his life and forcing Trick to face his long hidden feelings.

Even if Chase survives, that bomb has done more than rock the foundation of the popular leather club. It’s blown Trick and Chase’s well-guarded secret out of hiding, putting their lifestyle and their lives at risk. Now there is only one thing Trick needs to do before the club gets them and that’s to get revenge on the person who dared to hurt his precious boy.

Authors Note: Tricking Chase is a direct spin-off of The Protector, which is book 3 in my Sizzling Miami series. Though I tried to provide enough details that it isn’t necessary to have read that book, I cannot really call this a standalone.

Warning: Tricking Chase contains an established D/s relationship, hot guys on motorcycles, an undercover DEA agent named Snake, and a few visits from fan favorite Sizzling Miami characters.

Excerpt: Somewhere below, the doorbell rang and Ty sighed. Chase leaned in and licked his mouth, hoping to savor this moment for as long as possible. “Your gentle kisses always make me want more.”

Ty laughed at him. “Is there anything that doesn’t make you want more?”

“Of you? No.” Wanting was a constant state for him. When he was alone all he did was think about what they did together and when they were together all he wanted was to be as close as possible. If he was expected to go downstairs and show some restraint for Clay’s friends, he wanted more of this moment. “Perhaps a little spanking before I put my suit on?”

“You’re incorrigible.” Ty’s grin said he’d like nothing more than to bend Chase over the nearest surface and deliver a good hard spanking followed by a good hard pounding. He was totally on board with both ideas.

Without shame, he pushed his erection against Ty’s denim covered one and whispered, “Isn’t that what you like most about me?”

“It’s definitely one of your charms,” Ty mused, gripping his hips and taking his teasing nudge up to a full on grind. He was so close and the rough fabric on his bare skin felt amazing. All he needed was a minute, maybe less.

The heavy knock was like a bucket of ice and he couldn’t hold back the disappointed curse if he tried. Ty held him firm and continued the steady grind as if someone wasn’t trying to interrupt them. Just knowing that someone stood on the other side of the door while Ty worked to get them off drove him right back to the edge. Another knock had him groaning loudly.

“Seriously!” Clay demanded through the door.

One hand slid over his ass, grabbing Chase roughly and that was all it took for both of them. He cried out and that hand squeezed painfully, drawing out his orgasm until he was dizzy with it. Gasping for breath, he caught Ty’s evil smirk and laughed.

Still holding him close, Ty reached over and opened the door. Clay’s hostile glare made him laugh again. “Dress your boy, the party is starting without you.”

Ty snatched his swimsuit from Clay’s hand and pointed out, “We were having our own party up here until you interrupted us.”

“Yeah, yeah, there’s plenty of time for that later.”

“You’re getting real boring in your old age.” Before Clay could answer, Ty closed the door in his face. Chase took his suit and tugged Ty toward the adjoining bathroom, feeling lighter than he had in a long time.

The Protector - Jessie G AuthorAuthor Bio: “Wearer of Many Hats” is a title that was given to Jessie by a former employer some twenty years ago. This dubious distinction, along with the job description “everything is her fault”, came after she fixed an electrical problem—during her interview—that the office had been having for years. After that, if anything went wrong, her coworkers immediately declared it her fault so she’d have to fix it. This position of importance inspired the owner to convert a closet into an office, thereby providing her coworkers endless opportunities to refer to her as “the girl in the closet.”

Today she is still the “Wearer of Many Hats” and her family has readily jumped on the “everything is her fault” bandwagon. Most mornings start at 5am, where she stumbles into her home office (which is step or two up from a closet) to tackle her personal email, watch gay porn and satisfy her Trivia Crack addiction. By six, she’s caffeinated and ready to take on the world. Wearing her favorite red power nightgown, she expertly designs websites, provides SEO and social media services, freelances as a bookkeeper, cooks, cleans and writes.

Writing has been the elusive, life-long goal that seemed to be getting further away as the years went by. It took 30+ years to achieve, but she’s decided that timing is everything. The world wasn’t ready for m/m romance back then, and now that it is, the girl in the closet has finally found her writing home.

Jessie is a firm believer in marriage equality, love at first sight, power dynamics and happily ever after. She’s a lover of strong secondary characters and series filled with families, biological or chosen. All are themes you’ll find throughout her books.

As a mother of boys, one who is gay and one who is straight, I have had the condom speech more times than I can count. They’re adults and I still get in the whole “I hope you’re being safe” line when they start talking about their relationships. That’s the reality of the world we live in today. But is it the fiction world we live in?

Condoms are a hot topic in fiction, with some believing it’s the author’s responsibility to depict sexy sex as safe sex. Is this true? I don’t believe I’m a role model and I really don’t believe the people who read my books are stupid. No one is going to read my series and think that’s the way life, relationships or sex work in the real world. It’s fantasy, my fantasy, where all the guys are hot, dangerous, sexual beings who push the boundaries in every way.

In Past Hurts, my MCs do have a brief discussion on condom use. In For A Reason, my MCs transition from condom use to going bare without an on page discussion, but there is the general feeling that they must have had it off page. However, in The Protector there is a scene that’s going to have some people throwing up the yellow flag. Not only did I chose to write a bareback scene, it’s done without any discussion, implied or otherwise. An executive decision so to speak. I had my reasons, it comes on the heels of a very powerful scene and the connection between the characters needed to make a statement. One of love and trust and…I could go on, but this isn’t about spoilers.

Truth…safe sex is sexy. In your real life I hope you practice it, talk about it and make informed decisions that are right for you and your partner. Another truth…I write fiction and if you view me as a role model, then look to me as an example of someone who believed in her dream and never lost sight of her goal to be a published author. Beyond that, if you’re looking for a role model, I’m going to disappoint you. I have my own issues with the definitions of propriety, morality, religion, politics, right, wrong, left, right…honestly, I’m a train wreck.

Be true to yourself. I’ll be true to myself. That doesn’t mean when our paths cross there should be animosity between us. In fact, accepting each other’s differing beliefs should make for stronger connections. Accepting, not adopting. But then, that’s just my belief and it might be a little skewed.

~Jessie

The Protector CoverBlurb: There was a time when Master Saul Alvarez filled his days fighting and his nights teaching willing subs the pleasure of his whip. His compassionate understanding of the masochist mind makes him the most sought after professional sadist in the Miami BDSM community. Neither role invites long term relationships, but he’s comfortable with his solitary existence until he is charged with guarding Durango’s prized whore. One look into those terror filled eyes has him vowing to risk it all to save the beautiful man.

Javier Escardo had been praying for death, but never expected the stone cold killer he got in response. One glimpse into those sinful eyes reveals not only the promise of retribution, but a reason to live. Eight years later, free and mostly sane, Javier is determined to take what belongs to him. Saul’s heart. Through hell and back, through layers of pain and shifting realities, that one truth has remained firm. His protector needs saving and he can’t do it alone.

Hidden beneath the public persona, Kyle Jensen is a man who craves to be invisible without being insignificant. He longs to find a Master who will see his need to be taken over without abusing him and a lover who will care about him beyond the sexual games. It isn’t until he encounters the smoldering combination of Saul and Javier that he realizes it was never supposed to be just one partner at all.

Can two battered hearts be mended by the love of a third? Kyle becomes the light to their darkness, and he’s willing to risk his heart for theirs, but when the past threatens Saul, will Javier’s sacrifice destroy them all?
