Guest Post and Giveaway – Tapping Into Our Soul’s Expression by L. Dean Pace-Frech

Here’s to staying young our whole life by tapping into our soul’s expression ~ Jill Badonsky

photoI love reading books about characters my age. And, just like Jill’s quote says, I also feel like I can stay young by reading about characters who are younger.

First of all, there is the wisdom that comes with being in your mid-forties. I still enjoy reading about characters making stupid decisions and reflect upon my own youth. When I read Love You Forever by Amelia Bishop, I totally identified with the two characters and some of the jealous and vindictive things they do to each other. They have some additional stress with that curse.

There’s also wisdom that I can still learn through reading about younger characters. I wished I had JT’s patience in Unbreak My Heart by K-lee Klein. JT holds out, but will it be enough to get Brett’s attention? You’ll have to read that book to find out that happily ever after. Continue reading

The “Disappear With Me” Blog Tour Stops Here Today With Dean Pace-Frech And A Giveaway

Here’s to creativity’s ability to make an uncomfortable emotion useful ~ Jill Badonsky

photoOne of the questions I get asked a lot is, what was your favorite part to write. In Disappear With Me, I loved writing the jury deliberation process for a couple of reasons.

First of all, I got to research all the Bible verses that were part of that section. As a lifelong Christian, I got to reacquaint myself with some of the Bible’s most beautiful verses. Many of those verses and their interpretation are the culmination of listening to many of the pastors listed in the dedication at the front of the novel. I also learned some new verses and worked those in with my own (and therefore, Leander’s) wicked perception of their meanings.

Here’s A Sneak Peek At A Busy Week!

Hi, everyone, I hope you’ve all had a great week. We’ve got loads of good stuff coming up in the week ahead, including a couple more guest posts to celebrate the Hop Against Homophobia and Transphobia and another Countdown to GayRomLit guest visit. Watch for some great articles, interviews, giveaways, and reviews.

But first, I have an introduction to make. As all of you know by now, the LGBT reviewing community is about to lose one of its staunchest supporters, Becky Condit. Mrs. Condit Reads Books will be closing its virtual doors on May 31, 2014, and though it will be a great loss, The Novel Approach is making an equally great gain. Jules Lovestoread will be joining our crew, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have her with us, so, without further ado, here’s a little intro to our very own Jules:

All These Men Want From Life Is “A Place to Call Their Own”

“The past has a way of walking around in the present, behaving as if it were alive.” ― Anatol Lieven

After reading the blurb, I quickly snatched this up to read. With all the stories written about gay men in the past, we don’t come across too many stories set in the 1800’s. I’m a history buff, so I knew this one was going to be a treat.

Gregory and Frank met while fighting in the War Between the States, the Civil War. After the war, they’ve decided to head West to claim their land and live life together. I was amazed by how beautifully written this story was. The author brings you right into the story. You feel as though you are right there, on the plains seeing this beautiful unspoiled country. We are taken on this amazing journey with the two characters from the beginning of their travels, to the people they meet along the way, to the trials and tribulations of trying to make a home on the wild prairie.
