In “Chasing Matt”, Nice Guys Do Finish First

“Two people of similar nature can never get along, it takes two opposites to harmonize.” ― Ram Mohan

BLURB: Chase Williams is a gorgeous but painfully shy web designer whose long-term boyfriend dumped him for being such a “nice” guy. Instead of meeting his buddies at the local bar for a drink, he helps his elderly neighbor with a DIY project. When a wobbly step ladder leads to a banged up wrist and a trip to the ER, Chase is convinced it’s the worst night ever. Then he meets his handsome nurse.

Matt Owens is the boy next door who loves working in the busy ER. He’s more than ready to clock out from his double shift until he meets his patient in Bed 4.

But will Matt’s attraction to Chase be enough to make him break his rule about never dating patients?

First we meet Chase Williams. Chase would describe himself as a boring, okay looking nice guy. At least that is how Stephen, his ex, described him. Chase would prefer to stay in on a Friday night instead of partying it up out at a bar with his friends. So, when his elderly neighbor asks for his help, he jumps at the chance. Unfortunately for Chase, his neighbor’s step ladder is as old as his neighbor. Chase falls and ends up at the ER getting his sore wrist checked out.

Matt Owens is a Nurse Practitioner and he has been burned before so he is extremely careful with his heart. When he treats Chase in the ER he is funny, charming, and as far as Chase is concerned, drop dead gorgeous. The two men seem to hit it off, but Chase is upset when it seems Matt may not be interested in more.

This is a short but sweet story about two very different men that seem to find their match with each other. As much as Chase believes he is a boring, nerdy loser, Matt seems to like him just the way he is. Matt is jaded from a prior bad experience but Chase may just be too much temptation. In steps Chase’s obnoxious ex-boyfriend and there are some truly funny moments mixed in with some hot lovin’. I hope the authors are planning on telling more of their story because it seemed to end kind of abruptly. I for one would LOVE to read more about these two.

I am usually not a huge fan of the shorter stories but this one was wonderful, and I highly recommend it.

  1. I was in the mood for something fun, sexy, and angst-free this afternoon, and having seen this review this morning I went ahead and bought it. Very glad I did! It was exactly what I was looking for. I agree that I’d like to see more of these two. :)
